To do the Menghuan Falls trail you have to start from Sandiaoling station.

From Taipei, take the train 4162 at Nangang station and get off at Sandiaoling station (1h)

The trail is not a loop, but a one way back.

The trail is really easy from what I remember, not a lot of stairs and not that steep.

We went accross the really colorfull Menghuan temple. What I love about here is that almost every sacred place is so full of colour. Especially with the green and luxiurious nature all around, it makes the landscape even more beautiful !

We also came across this amazing butterfly which has the exact same color and shape of a leaf. In Taiwan, everyday you walk next to amazing insects, species you’ve never seen before. The biodiversity in this place is just crazy.

The God Pound Waterfall was not the most amazing waterfall I saw, especially in Taiwan where there are waterfalls everywhere… and not small waterfalls, but really huge ones, given the amount of water that falls almost every day there.

So for sure it was not the best waterfall, the water flow was really really low at that moment; so there were more stones than water. But I can imagine, maybe not in the middle of summer, that the waterfall can be quite impressive with more water.
