Ruifang District – Jinguashi Gold Ecological Park

To go to Jinguashi Gold Ecological Park take train 4240 from Nangang train station until Ruifang station and then Bus 788 from Ruifang station to Baomintang Station.

I think that Jinguashi is one of my favorite places outisde Taiwan.

I don’t remember how I heard about this place, but I remember it was a stop before going to the famous town of Juifan.

So when I visited this place I wasn’t expecting anything. Like always I don’t inform myself before visiting a place.

Jinguashi was a mining town during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. You can see the old abandoned railway tracks which is really cool.

You have a really nice view on Qitang Old Street.

After visiting the old mine area, we’ve come accross a trail going up the mountain. So we went there not exepting anything and I was really pleasantly surprised. It was like a video game or a fantasy movie. I don’t know why but it remind me of my favorite video game : Skies of Arkadia, who knows why.

On the way we could see the top of the Teapot mountain trail .

And after a couple of stairs later we saw the so called Jinguashi Shrine.

I was so in love with this place. Also we were, me and my father, alone. The place was really empty, from the start of the track until our arrival at the Jinguashi Shrine, who made the place even more magical.

It really looked like an old ruin from an ancient civilization and I really love this kind of environment. Especially when you are alone, you feel like an Explorer who just discovered a new treasure.

After we continued, the landscape became more like in the countryside and we had a great view of the sea.

We didn’t continued because it was the start of another trail and it was already late.
