Mt. Datun West Peak Trail is part of a bigger trail called Mt. Datun Multi Peak Trail.
So as you can understand, there is different peak : the West peak (982m), the South peak (957m) and the Main peak (1092m).
The total trail is around 4.30.
The West Peak trail was a really adventurous trail. It start pretty easily but after I remember we had to come accross some funny parts.

Like this part you can see underneath. You cannot really see it on the pictures but at some parts the grass has really grown over the path, so that once we hesistated to go backwards, scared that all the way would be like that without landing on a clear passage. But as always, I really really don’t like going backwards so I insisted to continue. Sure it was not really reassuring, knowing all the wildlife in Taiwan, espacially the snakes. Going throw a path where the grass coveres you almost entirely is not that easy.
But finally we were rewarded for our courage by a very practical path a few meters further.

The other tricly part was a bit further when we had to climb the peak. It was not as easy and practicable as expected but we’ve also made it until the top.
Well you won’t see any picture of the view because the sky was completely cloudy and we couldn’t see more that 2 meters in front of us. But the advantage was to have a nice misty hike which brings out this green majestic nature.

On the way down the peak, this time with the help of ropes, we’ve come across this little green snake. Don’t ask me the specie, I’ve searched but I wasn’t sure at the end.

The end of the trail was mostly goinf throw beautiful green tunnels made of different species.
So I would really recommend this trail. Maybe more during a sunny day, if you want to have a nice view from the Peak, but even without the sun you really can enjoy your time.
