To access the trail, first take the MRT (brown line) to Dahu Park Station .
Then cross Dahushanzhuang Street and go to Dagouxi Waterfront Park.

There you can start the trail by walking along the river until you reach the Yuanjue Falls.
Dagouxi Waterfront Park can be a really nice spot when it’s warm (which is the case most of the time in Taipei). There is not that many places where you can actually play the water. Here you can walk in the water and it’s not deep, so it can be nice for kids.

The trail to the falls is really easy and flat.

Yuanjue Falls

After reaching the falls we decided to continue and we went to Fengbishan Yuanjue Temple, where we had the pleasure to listen to some nice music.

It was a relaxing time, with a great view of the mountains.
We continued across the mountain.

I came accross this amazing spider which had a super nice design on its body, but it had some legs missing.

We saw a funny mini Great Wall of China. It happens quite often, even in the middle of nowhere in the mountains, you run into some funny sculptures.

Beware, when hiking during summer in Taiwan, with the timing. It’s getting dark pretty early and in the mountains there is no lighting.
As you can see on the picture, we were on top of the mountain when it was getting dark… so we hurried down all the stairs in a couple of minutes…. and it was sporty ! Fortunately almost everywhere in Taipei, even if you are in the mountains, the city is never far and there is always a taxi or MRT station pretty close.
