Lungshan Temple(also spelled Longshan) is the oldest and most visited temple in Taipei. It was the first temple I visited in Taiwan.
A lot of people go there for bwa-bwei (wooden divination blocks) and for worship ceremony.
More than 100 deities are worshipped at the temple, so many that Lungshan is sometimes referred to as « a meeting place of the gods. »




Lungshan Temple was constructed around 1740 but was rebuilt in 1957 because the old buildings were badly damaged by wars and natural disasters.





Lungshan Temple has a three-section hall protected by dragons on the right and left sides.





A variety of fairs, activities and festivals are held at the temple.
Around it are traditional and antique shops such as Chinese medicine shops. Herbal Medicine Lane (on Qingtsao Lane) has ten traditional medicine shops that sell hundreds of different kinds of herbs and traditional Chinese medicines, like the shop you can see on the picture below.
