Shimen District – Qingshan Falls trail

This Trail could be cald the taiwanses Huelgoat. For the peope who don’t know, Huelgoat is a famous place in Britanny where you can find a forest full of big stones.

If you leave from Taipei, take bus number 862 from Tamsui bus station (terminus MRT red line) to Laomei (it takes around 1 hour ).

To go to Quingsgan waterfall trail, you first have to start from Laomei and walk along the road.

At one point you will see the trail accross the road, and after it’s quite simple to reach the waterfall.

From what I remember the trail is not that hard and it’s not that steep (in comparaison to the usual trails near Taipei)

Like always, because I hate to go back on my steps, we found some tricky road next to the watferfall. Not sure it was still passable but we figure out to climb with a rope behind the waterfall and then it started to be a bit steep.

Funny fact: at one point I was resting on a banch and a gecko litteraly jumped on me. I think it was one of the only time in my life I screamed ! haha

So we climbed and climbed and on the top we had an amazing view, we could see the sea.

We continue and found some roads that took us back to the main road.

But I would recommend, to be sure not to get lost, to go backwards after you reach the waterfall. It’s easier !
